FEEL THE LOVE Giveaway!

Here at Class of 2k10, we’re thinking flowers and chocolates and kisses and those little paper hearts. And what do we love more than anything?

BOOKS!

And we know YOU love books too. So here’s what we’ve got to giveaway:

Signed copy of THE SECRET YEAR by Jennifer R. Hubbard
Signed copy of LEAVING GEE’S BEND by Irene Latham
Signed copy of ISLAND STING by Bonnie J. Doerr

and other assorted swag from Shari Maurer (CHANGE OF HEART), Jacqueline Houtman (THE REINVENTION OF EDISON THOMAS), Denise Jaden (LOSING FAITH), Leah Cypess (MISTWOOD), Rhonda Hayter (THE WITCHY WORRIES OF ABBIE ADAMS), Jame Richards (THREE RIVERS RISING), Kristina McBride (THE TENSION OF OPPOSITES), Mara Purnagen (TAGGED) and Janet Fox (FAITHFUL)

…all bundled up in a dreamy tote, just for you!

To enter, give a shout-out in comments to someone you love – maybe the librarian who first showed you where to find the good books, a teacher who encouraged you to write, or a fictional character who got your through a tough time. Extra points for tweeting or linking (tell us in comments!).

Contest ends midnight February 14. Open to US/CANADA residents only. Must be at least 13 years old to enter. Winner announced February 15.

And because I am most definitely feeling the love, I’ll get things rolling with a shout-out to my father, aka Papa, who cracked open some Shel Silverstein when I was very small and made me a lover of words. He’s also been my biggest fan from the very first poem I ever wrote. I love you, Papa!

I guess I'll give a shout out to my 10th grade Art History teacher, Mr.Lutness who taught me just how little I knew about the world, and how big a difference I could make in it. Man I love that old guy.

Thanks so much for the awesome contest!

For me, the person that got me though was Ms. Link in highschool. I moved the start of my 10th grade year, I did not make friends easily, and struggled - oh how I struggled...she took me under her wing, guided me, gave me a shoulder to cry on when I needed one...she was "that teacher" for me - and I still miss her!

Thank you again

I'll give my shout-out to my AP English teacher, who encouraged me to write, even though I didn't realize it until a few years later. When I went back to say thank you, she wasn't at the school anymore...

I tweeted here: http://twitter.com/HeatherTrese/status/8793548589
And it's in my sidebar here: http://seeheatherwrite.blogspot.com

Thanks, great contest!!

I'll give a shout out and much love to my critique partner, Steph Wooten, and to my mother, who believed in me even when I didn't. Tweeting this, too, at @jeniw. Happy Valentines Day!

I would give my shout out to my 5 grade reading teacher, Mrs. King. That year she read "Summer of the Monkeys". The way her tone rose and fell with excitement and dismay, I was hooked. As she read, my mind slipped into another world. Reading became an escape and a vacation, and took me to places way beyond my small home town. Thanks Mrs. King, you many not realize the impact you had on a young reader, but I will never forget that summer with the monkeys.

I'm giving a shoutout to my ladies of The Nest Book Club.

Without them I wouldn't have been introduced to all the wonderful books I've read in the last year and a half or fabulous book contests like this one. I've also gained awesome real-life friends from there who share my love of books.

I'm going to give a shout out to someone who is no longer with us---Mrs. H., the bookmobile lady and our neighbor growing up. She would always set aside books for me, always tried to get me to read science fiction, and was so excited when I finally read A Wrinkle in Time! She passed away from brain cancer, but I still keep her in my thoughts.

I would like to give a shout out to my mother who told me to “pull myself up by my bootstraps” when hard times were on me. She has inspired me and given me many books over the years in helping to craft my love for books and reading. She was the one person who not only encouraged my writing but was also so excited to read my rough copy of my first novel. Unfortunately she never got to. Rest In Peace Mom, love you! March 5th 1966 – Jan 13th 2010.

I have also tweeted with my account @Iwritethings and promoted this contest on my blog! Thanks for doing this giveaway!

I'll never forget my introduction to the creepier side of reading - the night my father gave me a leather bound collection of Edgar Allan Poe's short stories and read me "The Pit and the Pendulum". It changed my life.

Feel the Love Giveaway
I would have to give a shout out to my junior high English, Ms. Black, for helping me discover that what I'd been doing for years (with a lot of wild enthusiasm) was called writing and for helping me hone the skills that would follow me through everything I wrote thereafter. And for encouraging me to keep on writing. I just want her to know that I kept on writing - and I always will. Thanks, Ms. Black. You might never know how great your influence was on me, but I will never forget.

I'm giving a shout out to my dad and my mom! I don't really see him as much anymore because he's always at work, but when he isn't, every single time, I always remember how lucky I am to have a dad just like him! I love ya dad! And for my mom, she's always there for me when I need help or when I'm feeling low...she's always there for a hug and support when I feel like I'm going to explode with stress! I love ya ma!

I LOVE BOTH OF MY PARENTS!!! They're the two best people I admire most =) And besides, they understand my craziness with books =) That takes pure talent to keep up with my bookish ways =)

LOVE this contest! :)
I have to send out lots of book love to my 6th grade teacher Mrs. Inness. She introduced me to the wonderfulness that is reading by introducing me to Old Dan & Little Ann (Where the Red Fern Grows- Wilson Rawls), and Jonas (The Giver- Lois Lowry). For that I will be forever grateful.

And I have to say that I love my husband for putting up with my book addiction (listening to my audio books in the car, and not complaining when I zone out with a good book).

Thanks!
